Anna van Schayk (nee Ptaszynka) started her career working on large projects such as office towers and shopping centers including the KWV Winery and Arts Center. After winning an award as a member of a New Town design team, she started her own firm. Bossow and Ptaszynska Architects won special recognition from Architectural SA Magazine for their many residential (ocean shore and Namib desert sites), industrial, and institutional projects. Proficient in metric documentation.
NEW YORK CITY
In New York City joined the prestigious firm of Edward Durell Stone Associates (Kennedy Center, D.C, GM Building, NYC) as a designer on such projects as the remodeling of the 75,000 sq. ft. New York Technical College and an administrative building for Mead Digital HQ, Dayton OH.
CONNECTICUT
Moving to historic New England, Anna van Schayk undertook numerous residential and commercial projects, including: Project Designer Thomas Place an award winning ($20+million) residential development on an ecologically sensitive water front site on Long Island Sound at Robert Faesy Associates. Designer and site supervisor for the new gallery wing at the Aldrich Museum in Ridgefield. In Greenwich as project architect and site Supervisor for the Brunswick School Science Center, and project architect and supervisor for interior renovations to the Stamford Savings Bank at Butler, Rogers, Basket.
SANTA FE
The natural environment and respect for regionalism in Santa Fe reunited Anna with her roots. Interpreting traditional themes within a modern and classical framework as witnessed throughout the world is a unifying thread in her work. Design expertise and experience provides for a unique conception where each project is driven by the client program, not predetermined solutions. The scope of work includes new residence, alterations and additions including a music recital space. Long serving member of Vista Redonda Architectural Committee.

Anna van Schayk has a Bachelor of Architecture – 6yr Degree, University of Cape Town and Post Graduate studies at U of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI.
Certified through the National Council of Registration Boards.
Licensed Architect – New Mexico.
Past President – American Institute of Architects, Santa Fe. NM.
Co- founder and past President of Friends of Architecture Santa Fe.
